Stephen DeCesare is emerging as one of the most successful young American musical-theatre composers, whose compositions have been widely acclaimed by audiences and critics alike for their dramatic strength, passionate melodies and rich orchestrations. His works are receiving numerous performances and commissions all over the world in places such as the United States, Europe, Asia and the Philippines.
Stephen has won multiple competitions, including the Shashalet New Jewish Liturgical Music Competition for his piece “Eili, Eili, Lamo Azovtanu” (from the composition entitled “Lest We Forget”) where it was performed in Washington D.C. (2004). Theatres, which have performed his music, include the Adirondack Children’s Theatre, Academy Players, Heritage Opera Company, and many others.
Stephen’s musical “A Christmas Carol: the musical” has been his most successful composition to date. By December 2006, Christmas Carol will have received over 150 performances around the U.S. and abroad. His latest musical �The Picture Of Dorian Gray: the musical� will have its first staged pre-Broadway reading/workshop this August 2006 at Festival 56 in Princeton IL
