The musical opens with Doctor Jingle playing the big hit song by Da Prince and Aleia. He reminisces of the celebration of when Aleia was born. We are taken back to circa 1975 where a party is being celebrated and the disco music is in full swing. The King and Queen make their entrance with the baby carriage and sing a rock and roll number (Everybody Rock and Roll), that gets everyone into the groove. The Five Royal Fairies are announced and they sing their blessings upon the newborn princess (You’re Gonna Be A Beauty). Before the final fairy says her blessing, Queen Hepzibah, the evil fairy, enters. She is angered because not only was she not invited to the party, but that this party and Princess Aleia should have been hers, because she was in love with the King in earlier days and that he settled for someone with less talent than her. She puts a curse upon Aleia saying that she will prick her finger on the needle of a record player and fall down dead. She also warns the King and Queen that this is not the last they see of her (You Will Never Be Rid Of Me). When she leaves the Fifth fairy says she can soften the curse by saying that Aleia will only sleep and not fall down dead. The King orders all record players to be destroyed. The audience will see a transformation from records, to 8-track tapes, to the now popular, CD’s. We are then taken to Aleia’s 16th birthday where she sings her #1 hit single with the boy band ‘Out of Sync’ (Uh, Oh! I Didn’t Do It). After the song, she goes to find more cables for the band and ‘Out of Sync’, to kill some time, sing their hit song from their new album “All Restrictions Apply”, “Mamma”. Aleia, finds a room where she sees an old lady playing a funny looking black disc. She does not know what a record is. She is curious of how the sound is coming from this “record player”. She touches the needle and falls down. Hepzibah she has won. With the Princess asleep, comes the silencing of Rock and Roll and the beginning of MUSAK. Who will save Rock and roll. Da Prince will. He challenges Queen Hepzibah to a musical duel that the audience must decide who is the winner. He performs a hip-hop song (We’re Rockin’ In The House) and she performs a country song (Hug A Tree). The audience picks Da Prince (hopefully). He goes over to the Princess, gives her a kiss, and they decide to join their solo acts and become a duet. (We Will Always Stick Together). THE END
